The <strong data-start=\"456\" data-end=\"463\" data-is-only-node=\"\">LTO<\/strong> has begun strict enforcement of the ban on <strong data-start=\"510\" data-end=\"573\">EDSA, C-5, Roxas Boulevard, and Quirino Avenue up to SLEX<\/strong>, where violators will be <strong data-start=\"604\" data-end=\"640\">towed and their vehicles may be impounded<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"656\" data-end=\"1137\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The <strong data-start=\"674\" data-end=\"733\">Electric Vehicles Association of the Philippines (EVAP)<\/strong> supports the LTO's move due to the <strong data-start=\"762\" data-end=\"805\">safety of motorists and passengers<\/strong>, but stressed the need for <strong data-start=\"845\" data-end=\"878\">clearer implementation<\/strong>. According to <strong data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"920\">EVAP President Edmund Araga<\/strong>, it should be clear <strong data-start=\"941\" data-end=\"965\">what type of e-trike<\/strong> is allowed and <strong data-start=\"985\" data-end=\"1019\">which secondary roads<\/strong> they can travel on, especially for <strong data-start=\"1066\" data-end=\"1087\">L3 and L4 categories<\/strong> that are <strong data-start=\"1091\" data-end=\"1118\">registered and compliant<\/strong> with regulations.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1139\" data-end=\"1612\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The <strong data-start=\"1156\" data-end=\"1163\">LTO<\/strong> also shared that <strong data-start=\"1167\" data-end=\"1184\">114 motorists<\/strong> were caught on the first day of implementation and will be adding <strong data-start=\"1249\" data-end=\"1283\">personnel and enforcement teams<\/strong> to ensure <strong data-start=\"1301\" data-end=\"1319\">full compliance<\/strong>. However, EVAP insisted that the <strong data-start=\"1354\" data-end=\"1404\">ban should not only be in Metro Manila<\/strong>, but <strong data-start=\"1412\" data-end=\"1426\">nationwide<\/strong>, because <strong data-start=\"1434\" data-end=\"1458\">many e-trikes<\/strong> are already used as <strong data-start=\"1480\" data-end=\"1500\">public transport<\/strong> in <strong data-start=\"1504\" data-end=\"1535\">Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao<\/strong>, including those <strong data-start=\"1554\" data-end=\"1574\">unregistered<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1578\" data-end=\"1611\">dangerous on national highways<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1614\" data-end=\"2085\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The group also emphasized that <strong data-start=\"1649\" data-end=\"1687\">public safety and welfare<\/strong> should take precedence over <strong data-start=\"1717\" data-end=\"1740\">economic considerations<\/strong>, and that <strong data-start=\"1758\" data-end=\"1789\">coordination between LTO and LGUs<\/strong> is important. According to EVAP, LGUs have a <strong data-start=\"1809\" data-end=\"1839\">critical role<\/strong> in <strong data-start=\"1843\" data-end=\"1891\">identifying routes and designated areas<\/strong> for e-trikes and e-bikes to ensure <strong data-start=\"1933\" data-end=\"1961\">effective and equitable<\/strong> implementation.
