This comes after heated discussions on the proposed increase in MAIFIP's budget to <strong data-start=\"566\" data-end=\"580\">P51 BILLION<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"583\" data-end=\"920\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to the DOH, the current MAIFIP system is slow because it still requires paperwork and <strong data-start=\"679\" data-end=\"699\">GUARANTEE LETTER<\/strong> from politicians. The agency would prefer to expand <strong data-start=\"760\" data-end=\"784\">ZERO-BALANCE BILLING<\/strong>, where the patient will not have to pay anything to the hospital as long as he is a member of <strong data-start=\"861\" data-end=\"875\">PHILHEALTH<\/strong> and is admitted to the basic ward of a DOH hospital.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"922\" data-end=\"1249\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The DOH proposed that <strong data-start=\"944\" data-end=\"954\">70\u201380%<\/strong> of the additional funds go directly to <strong data-start=\"993\" data-end=\"1010\">LGU HOSPITALS<\/strong>, while the remaining <strong data-start=\"1034\" data-end=\"1044\">20\u201330%<\/strong> be allocated to the <strong data-start=\"1057\" data-end=\"1085\">CATASTROPHIC HEALTH FUND<\/strong> for serious cases.
