Magno assigned agents to focus on <strong data-start=\"516\" data-end=\"533\">investigations<\/strong> on companies involved in the <strong data-start=\"563\" data-end=\"572\">delays<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"575\" data-end=\"937\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to Customs Deputy Commissioner Michael Fermin, the recommended cases include <strong data-start=\"666\" data-end=\"688\">large-scale estafa<\/strong>. He explained that the real backlog occurred because the duties due were not processed and paid. About <strong data-start=\"827\" data-end=\"842\">10,000 OFWs<\/strong> were affected, and an estimated <strong data-start=\"871\" data-end=\"887\">52,000 boxes<\/strong> or <strong data-start=\"890\" data-end=\"908\">130 containers<\/strong> were not shipped on time.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"939\" data-end=\"1139\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Fermin further said that this is a large-scale estafa due to the <strong data-start=\"1003\" data-end=\"1022\">number of victims<\/strong> and the large amount involved. The NBI promised to hold all <strong data-start=\"1102\" data-end=\"1125\">responsible groups<\/strong> or individuals accountable.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1141\" data-end=\"1429\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Magno added that our <strong data-start=\"1193\" data-end=\"1214\">modern-day heroes<\/strong> need to be protected. The NBI will ensure that they are given assistance to protect their rights and hard-earned money.
