According to the PCO, the President remains focused on a <strong data-start=\"983\" data-end=\"1007\">stable economy<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1011\" data-end=\"1033\">broad-based growth<\/strong> for Filipinos.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">President Marcos and <strong data-start=\"822\" data-end=\"851\">BSP Governor Eli Remolona<\/strong> discussed in Malaca\u00f1ang the <strong data-start=\"870\" data-end=\"896\">Philippine economy<\/strong> and current <strong data-start=\"913\" data-end=\"934\">monetary policy<\/strong>. The economic team has set <strong data-start=\"1233\" data-end=\"1252\">5.5\u20136.5% growth<\/strong> for this year and <strong data-start=\"1274\" data-end=\"1282\">6\u20137%<\/strong> for 2026.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1300\" data-end=\"1603\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The country's <strong data-start=\"1304\" data-end=\"1311\">GDP<\/strong> grew by only <strong data-start=\"1341\" data-end=\"1347\">4%<\/strong> in the third quarter due to slow <strong data-start=\"1385\" data-end=\"1407\">government spending<\/strong> and the impact of recent <strong data-start=\"1434\" data-end=\"1443\">typhoons<\/strong>. According to the BSP, <strong data-start=\"1472\" data-end=\"1491\">domestic demand<\/strong> is slowing, and growth targets may slightly miss in 2025 and 2026 before returning to target in <strong data-start=\"1592\" data-end=\"1600\">2027<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1605\" data-end=\"1863\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">However, the outlook of economic planners remains <strong data-start=\"1628\" data-end=\"1640\">positive<\/strong>, emphasizing <strong data-start=\"1699\" data-end=\"1721\">low inflation<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1723\" data-end=\"1745\">controlled debt<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1747\" data-end=\"1766\">a stable peso<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1771\" data-end=\"1799\">a stable banking sector<\/strong>.
