The project aims to turn the area into a <strong data-start=\"487\" data-end=\"526\">cultural, culinary, and economic hub<\/strong> that will promote the <strong data-start=\"557\" data-end=\"575\">halal industry<\/strong> and provide opportunities for <strong data-start=\"612\" data-end=\"642\">Muslim-friendly businesses<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"647\" data-end=\"1086\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Mayor Isko Moreno<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"650\" data-end=\"671\">Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman<\/strong> visited the area to review the plan. According to Moreno, they plan to improve the surroundings and add <strong data-start=\"825\" data-end=\"849\">new facilities<\/strong> such as <strong data-start=\"859\" data-end=\"879\">pedestrian areas<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"883\" data-end=\"903\">al fresco dining<\/strong> zones that will not be accessible to vehicles. \u201cWe want to invest in the talent and culture of our Muslim brothers and sisters. Here, it is safe, clean, and there is halal food,\u201d Moreno said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1088\" data-end=\"1430\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to Pangandaman, a <strong data-start=\"1119\" data-end=\"1139\">Maranao princess<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1143\" data-end=\"1177\">the only Muslim in the cabinet<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"1195\" data-end=\"1220\">national government<\/strong> will support the project. Although the exact cost is not yet known, he assured that the <strong data-start=\"1302\" data-end=\"1309\">DBM<\/strong> will help in finding <strong data-start=\"1327\" data-end=\"1336\">funds<\/strong>. \u201cWe will find funds because this is important, especially since it is a big help to the economy,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1432\" data-end=\"1759\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">He added that the project is timely because <strong data-start=\"1479\" data-end=\"1549\">the Philippines will host the ASEAN Summit next year<\/strong>, and many Muslim visitors are expected to attend. The <strong data-start=\"1606\" data-end=\"1624\">halal industry<\/strong> is a <strong data-start=\"1628\" data-end=\"1660\">multi-billion peso business<\/strong> worldwide that will help not only tourism, but also <strong data-start=\"1729\" data-end=\"1756\">Filipino jobs<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1761\" data-end=\"2035\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Halal Town will cover part of <strong data-start=\"1800\" data-end=\"1856\">Globo de Oro, Arlegui, Bautista, and Elizondo Streets<\/strong>, near <strong data-start=\"1869\" data-end=\"1886\">Plaza Miranda<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1890\" data-end=\"1907\">Quiapo Church<\/strong>.
