According to the report, this is due to <strong data-start=\"506\" data-end=\"539\">a slowdown in medical inflation<\/strong> after two years of sharp increases in Asia.<\/span>...<\/p><p data-start=\"599\" data-end=\"885\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The Philippines joins countries such as <strong data-start=\"643\" data-end=\"681\">China, India, Singapore and Vietnam<\/strong> with slower growth in medical plan spending next year. In <strong data-start=\"762\" data-end=\"778\">Asia-Pacific<\/strong>, the average increase is expected to reach <strong data-start=\"800\" data-end=\"809\">11.3%<\/strong>, higher than the global average of <strong data-start=\"874\" data-end=\"882\">9.8%<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"887\" data-end=\"1236\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">In the data, the Philippines' <strong data-start=\"901\" data-end=\"922\">general inflation<\/strong> is at <strong data-start=\"944\" data-end=\"965\">3.0% this year<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"969\" data-end=\"985\">2.9% in 2026<\/strong>, while the <strong data-start=\"1003\" data-end=\"1020\">medical trend<\/strong> will decrease from <strong data-start=\"1036\" data-end=\"1067\">15% (\u20b115,000 per \u20b1100,000)<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1109\">14% (\u20b114,000 per \u20b1100,000)<\/strong>. The net trend rate will also decrease from <strong data-start=\"1149\" data-end=\"1171\">12% to 11.1%<\/strong>, due to wellness programs and cost-sharing such as co-pays.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1238\" data-end=\"1483\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The biggest cause of medical claims in the country is <strong data-start=\"1292\" data-end=\"1330\">hypertension or high blood pressure<\/strong>, which is the root cause of heart disease and cardiovascular problems. It is also the leading cause of healthcare costs in other Asian countries.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1485\" data-end=\"1804\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to experts, employers need to shift from <strong data-start=\"1548\" data-end=\"1573\">reactive cost control<\/strong> to <strong data-start=\"1585\" data-end=\"1614\">proactive health strategy<\/strong>.
