Some agents were <strong data-start=\"821\" data-end=\"875\">forced to answer calls during the earthquake<\/strong> and some were blocked from leaving their offices.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"937\" data-end=\"1144\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The group added that there were employees who <strong data-start=\"982\" data-end=\"1051\">refused to come in to prioritize their safety and family<\/strong>, but were given <strong data-start=\"1072\" data-end=\"1127\">notice to explain, sanctions, and reduction in incentives<\/strong> as punishment.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1146\" data-end=\"1356\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">BIEN asked DOLE to investigate companies for violating the <strong data-start=\"1225\" data-end=\"1269\">Occupational Safety and Health Standards<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1276\" data-end=\"1298\">Republic Act 11058<\/strong> which mandates making workplaces safe.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1358\" data-end=\"1518\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to Phivolcs data, up to <strong data-start=\"1393\" data-end=\"1411\">72 people have died<\/strong> in the Cebu earthquake while nearly <strong data-start=\"1444\" data-end=\"1465\">2,800 aftershocks<\/strong> have been recorded, of which <strong data-start=\"1489\" data-end=\"1515\">only 14 were felt<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ang grupo ng mga empleyado sa BPO sa Cebu ay nag-file ng reklamo sa DOLE laban sa mahigit 10 BPO companies matapos ang malakas na 6.9 magnitude na lindol sa Bogo City.Ayon sa BPO Industry Employees&#8217; Network (BIEN) Cebu, daan-daang empleyado ang nagpadala ng reklamo.
