The quake struck at 11:49 pm, 156 kilometers east of Surabaya on the island of Java. It had a depth of 13.9 kilometers.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"424\" data-end=\"704\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong data-start=\"424\" data-end=\"441\">The epicenter<\/strong> was near Sidoarjo, where an Islamic school collapsed the day before the quake. Three people died and more victims are still being searched for under the rubble. It is unclear whether the quake affected rescue operations.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"706\" data-end=\"922\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong data-start=\"706\" data-end=\"733\">Residents and guests<\/strong> at hotels in Sidoarjo left their rooms after feeling the tremors. According to one witness, he noticed the lights moving so he immediately left in fear.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"924\" data-end=\"1100\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong data-start=\"924\" data-end=\"943\">According to the Indonesian Meteorology and Earthquake Agency, there is no threat of a tsunami.
