Zaldy Co has spoken out about the allegations of <strong data-start=\"433\" data-end=\"446\">corruption<\/strong> against him. According to Co, the accusations are <strong data-start=\"497\" data-end=\"543\">\u201cfalse, baseless, and politically charged.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"547\" data-end=\"843\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">In his letter to House Speaker Bojie Dy, Co said he was saddened when his <strong data-start=\"647\" data-end=\"667\">travel clearance<\/strong> was revoked while he was in the <strong data-start=\"688\" data-end=\"705\">United States<\/strong> for long-scheduled <strong data-start=\"739\" data-end=\"755\">medical care<\/strong>. He insisted that the decision was due to \u201cpressure\u201d and not based on due process.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"845\" data-end=\"1266\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Co denied accusations such as <strong data-start=\"888\" data-end=\"909\">budget insertions<\/strong>, being the owner of the plane used by former president <strong data-start=\"971\" data-end=\"990\">Rodrigo Duterte<\/strong> to The Hague, requesting fish import allocations for <strong data-start=\"1056\" data-end=\"1090\">ZC Victory Fishing Corporation<\/strong>, and allegedly receiving money from <strong data-start=\"1144\" data-end=\"1152\">DPWH<\/strong> projects. He said the media made the situation worse and his family condemned them in the <strong data-start=\"1236\" data-end=\"1263\">court of public opinion<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1268\" data-end=\"1557\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Co appealed that upon his return to the Philippines, he would be given due process and ensure the <strong data-start=\"1368\" data-end=\"1401\">safety of his family<\/strong>. But according to Speaker Dy, he must appear in person in the country to answer the allegations and the case before the <strong data-start=\"1525\" data-end=\"1554\">House Committee on Ethics<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1559\" data-end=\"2041\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Meanwhile, investigations by the <strong data-start=\"1595\" data-end=\"1615\">Senate and House<\/strong> revealed <strong data-start=\"1632\" data-end=\"1648\">billion pesos<\/strong> missing from flood control projects. As a result, the <strong data-start=\"1721\" data-end=\"1765\">Independent Commission on Infrastructure<\/strong> was created to investigate irregularities over the past 10 years. On September 21, thousands of citizens protested against <strong data-start=\"1896\" data-end=\"1909\">corruption<\/strong>, including the \u201cBaha sa Luneta\u201d and the \u201cTrillion Peso March\u201d on EDSA that caused the closure of roads due to the large number of people.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ang Ako Bicol Party-list Rep.
