Starting with this policy, only up to <strong data-start=\"569\" data-end=\"581\">\u20b1500,000<\/strong> can be withdrawn per banking day without additional documents.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"664\" data-end=\"962\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Circular 1218 signed by <strong data-start=\"706\" data-end=\"735\">Governor Eli Remolona Jr.<\/strong> states that all banks and other <em data-start=\"771\" data-end=\"818\">BSP-supervised financial institutions (BSFIs)<\/em> must implement stricter <em data-start=\"863\" data-end=\"875\">safeguards<\/em> against <strong data-start=\"885\" data-end=\"959\">money laundering, terrorism financing, and the use of illegal funds<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"964\" data-end=\"1309\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">If the cash withdrawal or <em data-start=\"1012\" data-end=\"1020\">payout<\/em> exceeds \u20b1500,000, it must go through <strong data-start=\"1045\" data-end=\"1067\">traceable channels<\/strong> such as <strong data-start=\"1077\" data-end=\"1158\">check payments, fund transfers, direct credit to account, or digital platforms<\/strong>. For cash transactions exceeding this amount, <strong data-start=\"1213\" data-end=\"1245\">enhanced due diligence (EDD)<\/strong> such as additional valid ID or proof of legitimate business is required.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1311\" data-end=\"1543\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The BSP also directed banks to closely monitor accounts, file <strong data-start=\"1395\" data-end=\"1429\">suspicious transaction reports<\/strong>, and review the business relationships of clients who do not comply with the EDD or have suspicious activities.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1545\" data-end=\"1811\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to the BSP, this is part of their move after a risk assessment showed a high risk of <strong data-start=\"1654\" data-end=\"1676\">illegal cash flows<\/strong> in large transactions.
