As a result, Israel and several of its leaders have been indicted at the <em data-start=\"483\" data-end=\"521\">International Court of Justice (ICJ)<\/em> and the <em data-start=\"525\" data-end=\"561\">International Criminal Court (ICC)<\/em>, both based in The Hague.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"596\" data-end=\"888\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">At the <strong data-start=\"599\" data-end=\"606\">ICC<\/strong>, individuals such as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former defense minister Yoav Gallant have <em data-start=\"716\" data-end=\"733\">arrest warrants<\/em> for <strong data-start=\"742\" data-end=\"783\">war crimes and crimes against humanity<\/strong>\u2014including <em data-start=\"800\" data-end=\"829\">starving, killing, and persecuting<\/em> civilians. They have not yet been charged with <em data-start=\"875\" data-end=\"885\">genocide<\/em>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"890\" data-end=\"1241\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Meanwhile, at the <strong data-start=\"904\" data-end=\"911\">ICJ<\/strong>, Israel was sued by South Africa for violating the <strong data-start=\"970\" data-end=\"1001\">1948 UN Genocide Convention<\/strong>. The court has already issued <em data-start=\"1018\" data-end=\"1037\">emergency rulings<\/em>, such as ordering a halt to operations in Rafah and allowing <strong data-start=\"1124\" data-end=\"1144\">humanitarian aid<\/strong> to enter. The broader case of <em data-start=\"1179\" data-end=\"1189\">genocide<\/em> could only begin in <strong data-start=\"1230\" data-end=\"1238\">2027<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1243\" data-end=\"1529\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong data-start=\"1243\" data-end=\"1258\">Important:<\/strong> The process is very slow. The ICC relies on <strong data-start=\"1308\" data-end=\"1329\">125 member states<\/strong> to execute <em data-start=\"1348\" data-end=\"1365\">arrest warrants<\/em>. If Israel does not extradite Netanyahu, it is unlikely that he will appear in court. The ICJ has given Israel until <strong data-start=\"1488\" data-end=\"1502\">January 2026<\/strong> to submit a response.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1531\" data-end=\"1754\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">For experts, it could take <strong data-start=\"1575\" data-end=\"1597\">5 to 10 years<\/strong> before these cases have a clear impact.
