At first, everything was fine\u2014we were happy and seemed to have perfect personalities. But in recent months, I've noticed that our relationship seems to be too <strong data-start=\"818\" data-end=\"835\">transactional<\/strong>. It seems like everything comes with a price. When I give something, he always asks for something in return. Even on a simple <strong data-start=\"969\" data-end=\"977\">date<\/strong>, he always wants to split the cost <strong data-start=\"999\" data-end=\"1008\">50\/50<\/strong>. In my mind, yes, we are equal, but he should also have a little tenderness and <strong data-start=\"1089\" data-end=\"1099\">effort<\/strong> as a man.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1127\" data-end=\"1645\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">One \u200b\u200bnight, we talked about it. I told him that if we got married one day, this system would no longer apply. It's not realistic to have <strong data-start=\"1318\" data-end=\"1347\">KKB (Kanya-Kanyag Bayad)<\/strong> for the rest of our lives. His point is, we're equal so there's no reason for him to be the only one spending money or making effort. But for me, that's not how it should be. <strong data-start=\"1921\" data-end=\"1933\">equality<\/strong> is about equal respect and rights, but that doesn't mean that being a <strong data-start=\"2032\" data-end=\"2045\">gentleman<\/strong> will disappear. Even though we're equal, he can still open the <strong data-start=\"2103\" data-end=\"2121\">car door<\/strong>, hand me flowers, or show me a little surprise just to make me feel special to him.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"2226\" data-end=\"2749\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">To be honest, I'm hurt. I feel like he's using the word <strong data-start=\"2300\" data-end=\"2312\">equality<\/strong> just to avoid doing the things that would make me happy. I can afford my share of all our dates, even if it's up to <strong data-start=\"2454\" data-end=\"2469\">\u20b1500\u2013\u20b11,000<\/strong> per date, but that's not the issue. I'm not asking him for luxury, I just want to feel like he's making <strong data-start=\"2580\" data-end=\"2590\">effort<\/strong> to show me that I'm important. It's hard to accept that in this day and age, there are still men who can't show simple <strong data-start=\"2734\" data-end=\"2746\">chivalry<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"2751\" data-end=\"3340\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Now, I'm confused. I love him so much but I also think, if he's like this now, how can he be in the future? Maybe when we get married, he'll be even more like this\u2014no effort, no simple <strong data-start=\"2971\" data-end=\"2993\">princess treatment<\/strong>, and maybe the relationship will become even more transactional. So I ask myself, is it normal for me to ask for something like this, or am I wrong because I believe in equality?
