I'm <strong data-start=\"548\" data-end=\"560\">35 years old<\/strong>, a <strong data-start=\"568\" data-end=\"591\">government employee<\/strong>, and I have a <strong data-start=\"611\" data-end=\"623\">35 years old<\/strong> husband who is an <strong data-start=\"633\" data-end=\"640\">OFW<\/strong>. He's a good person\u2014<strong data-start=\"660\" data-end=\"703\">good provider, loyal, and a good husband<\/strong> in many ways. But ever since we got together, we've only had one <strong data-start=\"779\" data-end=\"797\">problem<\/strong>: his <strong data-start=\"807\" data-end=\"824\">friends<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"829\" data-end=\"1262\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">At first, I thought it was normal for him to go out with his friends once in a while. But as time went on, it became more frequent, it became an issue, and until now that we've been married for 12 years, we've only been fighting about our friends. No matter what I ask, even if I say no, he'll still go to drinks with them. I feel like his friends are more of a priority than me and our child.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1264\" data-end=\"1650\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">In <strong data-start=\"1270\" data-end=\"1282\">Dec 2023<\/strong>, he came home to <strong data-start=\"1303\" data-end=\"1316\">the Philippines<\/strong> for a <strong data-start=\"1337\" data-end=\"1349\">2 week vacation<\/strong>. I thought it would be our time as a family. But almost every night, he was with <strong data-start=\"1439\" data-end=\"1460\">his friends<\/strong> just to drink. It hurts to think that he came home for them, not for us. During those two weeks, we had almost no family time, because <strong data-start=\"1636\" data-end=\"1647\">friends<\/strong> always came first.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1652\" data-end=\"2108\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">I felt even more bad about our last fight. He told me that I was a \u201c<strong data-start=\"1740\" data-end=\"1772\">very useless wife<\/strong>\u201d because I couldn't go with him on his trip. My answer to him was, in that case, <strong data-start=\"1854\" data-end=\"1887\">he should just find a wife<\/strong> who can go with him. I'm not a drinker, I prefer home and work. That's why I really don't like <strong data-start=\"2017\" data-end=\"2038\">his friends<\/strong>, because whenever he's with them, I look like the villain.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"2110\" data-end=\"2446\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">What's even more painful is that before he went abroad, my husband had an accident. In his time of need, <strong data-start=\"2207\" data-end=\"2238\">not one of his friends<\/strong> visited or showed any concern. But when it came to fun and drinking, they were always there. That's when I thought, why was it that in <strong data-start=\"2355\" data-end=\"2378\">sadness and problems<\/strong> I was there, but in <strong data-start=\"2405\" data-end=\"2421\">joy and comfort<\/strong>, they were with him?<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"2448\" data-end=\"2814\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">So now, I'm confused. Am I right in feeling this way or am I just being selfish? Is the jealousy and hurt I feel valid, or am I the only one at fault? I love my husband, but I feel like we're no longer his priority as a family.
