Greg Mansell, son of F1 legend Nigel Mansell, initiated this project.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"551\" data-end=\"831\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Greg had previously tested the R1250GS Adventure on the Bouley Bay Hill Climb and achieved a faster time than he expected even with <strong data-start=\"699\" data-end=\"722\">standard road tyres<\/strong>. After seeing the new R1300GS, they decided to take it on the hill climb to measure its speed.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"833\" data-end=\"1111\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Now, the R1300GS is like a <strong data-start=\"863\" data-end=\"876\">supermoto<\/strong>, with <strong data-start=\"885\" data-end=\"961\">17in front wheel, upgraded suspension, ECU map, straight-through exhaust<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"966\" data-end=\"989\">tweaked final drive<\/strong>. Due to changes to the <strong data-start=\"1017\" data-end=\"1028\">chassis<\/strong>, the focus is not only on power but also on handling and speed on steep roads.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1113\" data-end=\"1435\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">As a result, Greg broke the <strong data-start=\"1147\" data-end=\"1180\">15-year open capacity record<\/strong> at Bouley Bay, with a new time of <strong data-start=\"1215\" data-end=\"1232\">45.13 seconds<\/strong>, 0.02 seconds faster than the previous record. Even though the BMW M1000XR had more power, the GS was defeated on the steep and rough track due to its <strong data-start=\"1390\" data-end=\"1432\">Telelever suspension and low-end torque<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1437\" data-end=\"1585\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">This project is proof that even with just a few modifications, an adventure bike can become world-class in the unique challenge of hill climbing.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ang BMW R1300GS Adventure bike, kilala bilang adventure flagship ng brand, ay binago lang ng kaunti at ngayon ay record-breaker sa hill climb.
