Many complain that the loans here involve <strong data-start=\"496\" data-end=\"546\">intimidation, harassment, and abusive debt collection<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"551\" data-end=\"798\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to PAOCC Undersecretary Gilbert Cruz, there are lending apps that are not legitimate and use borrowers' personal information such as <strong data-start=\"700\" data-end=\"747\">social media accounts, contacts, and gallery<\/strong> to intimidate them if they fail to pay on time.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"800\" data-end=\"987\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">There are even reports of the borrower's <strong data-start=\"833\" data-end=\"874\">child or house being used as a threat<\/strong>. When payments are delayed, threats such as \"call the police,\" \"beat them up,\" or \"burn your house down.\"<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"989\" data-end=\"1201\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Cruz said it is better to use <strong data-start=\"1031\" data-end=\"1068\">legit and government loan programs<\/strong> like GSIS, SSS, or cooperatives.
