There have been reports of <strong data-start=\"535\" data-end=\"554\">long lines<\/strong> and confusion among patients, so the President wants the process to be clear.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"635\" data-end=\"952\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">During his visit to the <strong data-start=\"656\" data-end=\"707\">Eastern Visayas Medical Center in Tacloban City<\/strong>, the President said that <strong data-start=\"736\" data-end=\"774\">staff should be properly briefed<\/strong> so that patients do not face difficulties in availing the benefits. The <strong data-start=\"856\" data-end=\"880\">zero balance billing<\/strong> policy was first announced by Marcos in his fourth SONA in July.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"954\" data-end=\"1168\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">This policy covers patients admitted to <strong data-start=\"1011\" data-end=\"1048\">basic accommodation rooms or wards<\/strong> in DOH-accredited hospitals. There is no need for <strong data-start=\"1100\" data-end=\"1126\">out-of-pocket expenses<\/strong> or additional payment from patients.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1170\" data-end=\"1625\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Before the hospital inspection, Marcos personally handed over <strong data-start=\"1241\" data-end=\"1282\">124 patient transport vehicles (PTVs)<\/strong> to various local governments in Eastern Visayas. This includes towns that only recently had their own <strong data-start=\"1403\" data-end=\"1417\">ambulance<\/strong>, such as Abuyog, Jaro, Kananga, Matalom and Santa Fe in Leyte; Tagapulan in Samar; General MacArthur, Salcedo and San Policarpio in Eastern Samar; and Lapinig, San Vicente and Silvino Lobos in Northern Samar.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1627\" data-end=\"1962\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Each ambulance is fully equipped with equipment such as a <strong data-start=\"1673\" data-end=\"1741\">stretcher, oxygen tank, blood pressure monitor, and first aid kit<\/strong>. According to Marcos, this model is practical because it meets <strong data-start=\"1820\" data-end=\"1858\">90% of the basic needs<\/strong> of the patient.
