I was 24 years old at the time, recently separated from my long-time partner. I was going through so much pain that I thought it might be better if I met someone new \u2014 not to find a replacement right away, but just to <strong data-start=\"713\" data-end=\"725\">have fun<\/strong> and talk to other people. I'm single, so there's nothing wrong with that... right?<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"807\" data-end=\"1346\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">One day, I suddenly thought of a FB friend. I've had a <strong data-start=\"879\" data-end=\"888\">crush<\/strong> on her for a long time \u2014 I've always noticed her posts, her stories, and her simple aura that makes it seem like she's easy to talk to. Even then, I've been attracted to her. So I said to myself, \"Why don't I try it?\" I didn't hesitate anymore, I made the <strong data-start=\"1113\" data-end=\"1127\">first move<\/strong> right away. That's just how I am \u2014 if I want something, I'll make a way. We're the same age, have a stable job, professional, brunette, simple but <strong data-start=\"1264\" data-end=\"1275\">beautiful<\/strong> even without make-up. Honestly, she seems like my ideal type.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1348\" data-end=\"1924\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">After a few days of constant chatting, we decided to <strong data-start=\"1415\" data-end=\"1426\">meet up<\/strong> to see if we really got along. We didn't go to an expensive restaurant or a social place. We just had a late night coffee date using camping chairs next to my car. The surroundings were quiet, the air was cool, and it was just enough to have a good conversation. The conversation was light, there were no awkward moments, and I felt like we became even more <strong data-start=\"1780\" data-end=\"1794\">interested<\/strong> in each other. We had the same outlook on life, so in my mind, \u201cI want to pursue her\u2026 she's really girlfriend material.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1926\" data-end=\"2542\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">A few days passed, and he himself suggested we meet again. It was Saturday, we were both off, so we met after he had gone for a walk with friends. It was a bit late, so we decided to have another coffee date. After the conversation, I was about to drop him off, but before I started the car, I jokingly brought my face closer and said, \u201cNext time when we\u2019re free, huh?\u201d I thought he would just laugh, but his answer was, \u201cWhy didn\u2019t you continue?\u201d That\u2019s when I was <strong data-start=\"2386\" data-end=\"2397\">surprised<\/strong>. He suddenly grabbed my face and <strong data-start=\"2439\" data-end=\"2452\">kissed<\/strong> me. Of course, I kissed back \u2014 I couldn\u2019t help it because the moment was there.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"2544\" data-end=\"3138\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Our kiss was short because the car wasn't tinted. I still wanted to be a gentleman so I said, \u201cMaybe your mommy is looking for you.\u201d But he replied, \u201cIt's okay. I'll take care of it. Take me wherever you want.\u201d And that's it\u2026 you know what happened next. The next morning, while we were cuddling, all he said was <strong data-start=\"2860\" data-end=\"2873\">assurances<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"2877\" data-end=\"2893\">future plans<\/strong> for us. Sweet, so much. But deep down, something was eating at my mind: \u201cWhat if he's done this to someone else?\u201d or \u201cWhat if when we're together, he meets someone better than me, and what happened to someone else happens to me?\u201d<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"3140\" data-end=\"3532\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">I don't know if I'm wrong for thinking that way, but I can't help it. Honestly, I don't want to judge him because I don't have any evidence. But maybe because of my insecurities and my still-fresh heartbreak, I gradually became <strong data-start=\"3384\" data-end=\"3392\">cold<\/strong>. I lost interest even though he wasn't doing anything wrong. Until it came to the point where we decided to <strong data-start=\"3511\" data-end=\"3521\">just stop<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"3534\" data-end=\"3826\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">To this day, I still think about the whole incident. I know I was flawed. Maybe if I had trusted more, our ending would have been different. But if you were in my situation then\u2026 what would you think?
