I'm quiet, don't like to get involved in trouble, and I prefer to focus on my studies. But in the past few months, there's one person who's always messing with my system\u2014not out of anger or annoyance, but out of excitement.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"745\" data-end=\"1176\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">This is <strong data-start=\"753\" data-end=\"767\">Sir Javier<\/strong>, my teacher in Contemporary Arts. I first saw him on the first day of class, and I admit\u2014I didn't immediately feel a thrill. But as time went on, I noticed that he was different. He teaches well, always has substance, and knows how to listen to students. He has a way of explaining that even when the topic is difficult, you understand. And most of all, he has an aura that you won't forget.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-row-container\" data-vce-boxed-width=\"true\"><div class=\"vce-row vce-row--col-gap-30 vce-row-equal-height vce-row-content--top\" id=\"el-5a16122f\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-5a16122f\"><div class=\"vce-row-content\" data-vce-element-content=\"true\"><div class=\"vce-col vce-col--md-auto vce-col--xs-1 vce-col--xs-last vce-col--xs-first vce-col--sm-last vce-col--sm-first vce-col--md-last vce-col--lg-last vce-col--xl-last vce-col--md-first vce-col--lg-first vce-col--xl-first\" id=\"el-f67672b9\"><div class=\"vce-col-inner\" data-vce-do-apply=\"border margin background  el-f67672b9\"><div class=\"vce-col-content\" data-vce-element-content=\"true\" data-vce-do-apply=\"padding el-f67672b9\"><div class=\"vce-text-block\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-c19591b3\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-c19591b3\"><p data-start=\"1183\" data-end=\"1489\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">At first, I thought it was just simple admiration\u2014like being a fan of an idol. But as time went on, I started to feel different. When he entered the class, my cheeks suddenly felt hot. When he asked a question, I felt nervous as if there was a quiz in my heart.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1491\" data-end=\"1815\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">There are still times when I catch him looking at me. I don't know if it's because he's calling me to the recitation or if he just really looks at me. But every time our eyes meet, it's as if time stops. And that's when I get even more confused\u2014maybe I'm just imagining it, maybe it doesn't really mean anything.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-row-container\" data-vce-boxed-width=\"true\"><div class=\"vce-row vce-row--col-gap-30 vce-row-equal-height vce-row-content--top\" id=\"el-be7d4a03\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-be7d4a03\"><div class=\"vce-row-content\" data-vce-element-content=\"true\"><div class=\"vce-col vce-col--md-auto vce-col--xs-1 vce-col--xs-last vce-col--xs-first vce-col--sm-last vce-col--sm-first vce-col--md-last vce-col--lg-last vce-col--xl-last vce-col--md-first vce-col--lg-first vce-col--xl-first\" id=\"el-8d5acdbe\"><div class=\"vce-col-inner\" data-vce-do-apply=\"border margin background  el-8d5acdbe\"><div class=\"vce-col-content\" data-vce-element-content=\"true\" data-vce-do-apply=\"padding el-8d5acdbe\"><div class=\"vce-text-block\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-7a325ac1\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-7a325ac1\"><p data-start=\"1822\" data-end=\"2088\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">I know for myself that there are things that shouldn't be taken lightly. He's a teacher, I'm a student. There are rules, there are expectations, and most of all, there are people around who can judge. I don't want it to come to the point where it becomes an issue.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"2090\" data-end=\"2359\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">So even though I want to see and hear him, I still try to keep my feelings at a safe level. I don't want to fall completely, but I have to admit\u2014it's not easy. I see him almost every day, and with each passing day, my thrill seems to deepen.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-row-container\" data-vce-boxed-width=\"true\"><div class=\"vce-row vce-row--col-gap-30 vce-row-equal-height vce-row-content--top\" id=\"el-4a296d93\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-4a296d93\"><div class=\"vce-row-content\" data-vce-element-content=\"true\"><div class=\"vce-col vce-col--md-auto vce-col--xs-1 vce-col--xs-last vce-col--xs-first vce-col--sm-last vce-col--sm-first vce-col--md-last vce-col--lg-last vce-col--xl-last vce-col--md-first vce-col--lg-first vce-col--xl-first\" id=\"el-a36b0ea4\"><div class=\"vce-col-inner\" data-vce-do-apply=\"border margin background  el-a36b0ea4\"><div class=\"vce-col-content\" data-vce-element-content=\"true\" data-vce-do-apply=\"padding el-a36b0ea4\"><div class=\"vce-text-block\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-1ab47000\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-1ab47000\"><p data-start=\"2366\" data-end=\"2634\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">They say it's normal to have a crush on a teacher, especially if they're kind, smart, and care about the student. It's not bad if it's just admiration. So maybe this is what I'll plant in my mind: <strong data-start=\"2603\" data-end=\"2632\">Just for the thrill.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"2636\" data-end=\"2933\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">I will just use him as an inspiration to do better in my studies. If he can make such an impact on me, maybe I can also make an impact in my own life through hard work. There is a right time for everything, and maybe, now is not the time for this.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-row-container\" data-vce-boxed-width=\"true\"><div class=\"vce-row vce-row--col-gap-30 vce-row-equal-height vce-row-content--top\" id=\"el-10d0cfa6\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-10d0cfa6\"><div class=\"vce-row-content\" data-vce-element-content=\"true\"><div class=\"vce-col vce-col--md-auto vce-col--xs-1 vce-col--xs-last vce-col--xs-first vce-col--sm-last vce-col--sm-first vce-col--md-last vce-col--lg-last vce-col--xl-last vce-col--md-first vce-col--lg-first vce-col--xl-first\" id=\"el-995e2a9e\"><div class=\"vce-col-inner\" data-vce-do-apply=\"border margin background  el-995e2a9e\"><div class=\"vce-col-content\" data-vce-element-content=\"true\" data-vce-do-apply=\"padding el-995e2a9e\"><div class=\"vce-text-block\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-3e02f1aa\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-3e02f1aa\"><p data-start=\"2940\" data-end=\"3185\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">I still get a thrill every time I see him. That won't go away anytime soon. But I'm learning to handle my own feelings. I know that my dream is more important than any thrill that could fade away.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"3187\" data-end=\"3473\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">For now, I'll keep my feelings a secret. There's nothing wrong with that, as long as you know where the limits are.
