I admired my father even more because he was a <strong data-start=\"646\" data-end=\"664\">bank executive<\/strong>\u2014smart, responsible, and seemingly the perfect husband and father in everyone's eyes.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"747\" data-end=\"1053\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">But one day, everything changed. <strong data-start=\"783\" data-end=\"840\">I discovered a secret that rocked my world.<\/strong> I discovered <strong data-start=\"862\" data-end=\"892\">that my father had an illegitimate child<\/strong>\u2014meaning, he had a relationship with someone and they had a child before he met my mother. My illegitimate sibling was a year older than me.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1055\" data-end=\"1313\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">I didn't tell my mom right away. I didn't know how to start, so what I did was <strong data-start=\"1145\" data-end=\"1182\">talked to my dad secretly<\/strong>. While we were talking, I was crying because I didn't think he could do this. It was only then that I learned the whole truth.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1315\" data-end=\"1651\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Dad said that before he and mom met, <strong data-start=\"1369\" data-end=\"1432\">he had a relationship with a woman who got him pregnant.<\/strong> When he and mom got married, he left that woman and <strong data-start=\"1499\" data-end=\"1533\">chose mom with all his heart.<\/strong> But as a father, he did not leave his daughter and <strong data-start=\"1586\" data-end=\"1648\">continued to help and fulfill his obligations<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1653\" data-end=\"1973\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong data-start=\"1653\" data-end=\"1715\">He begged me not to tell my mother.<\/strong> He didn't want to break up the family and hurt my mother. He said he had no more contact with the woman, except to support the child. Now, both my brother and I are <strong data-start=\"1873\" data-end=\"1915\">college students outside<\/strong> and I don't know how to handle the situation.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1975\" data-end=\"2253\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong data-start=\"1975\" data-end=\"1998\">My mind is confused.<\/strong> I love my family.
