According to Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, the administration is further strengthening health services through <strong data-start=\"501\" data-end=\"515\">PhilHealth<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"519\" data-end=\"549\">Department of Health (DOH)<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"552\" data-end=\"836\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to DOF Undersecretary Maria Luwalhati Dorotan-Tiuseco, the fund is just <strong data-start=\"626\" data-end=\"644\">additional support<\/strong> to the large PhilHealth fund which is expected to reach <strong data-start=\"707\" data-end=\"722\">P348 billion<\/strong> by the end of 2025. It aims to <strong data-start=\"761\" data-end=\"788\">expand benefits<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"792\" data-end=\"814\">medical services<\/strong> for members.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"838\" data-end=\"1035\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Recto also announced that <strong data-start=\"865\" data-end=\"903\">there will be no increase in the contribution rate<\/strong> of members. Instead, PhilHealth will strive to <strong data-start=\"958\" data-end=\"985\">improve collection<\/strong> to further expand services to Filipinos.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1042\" data-end=\"1362\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong data-start=\"1042\" data-end=\"1093\">On the part of the Office of the Vice President (OVP),<\/strong> Malaca\u00f1ang allowed it to submit a <strong data-start=\"1136\" data-end=\"1169\">higher budget proposal<\/strong>, but it must be properly explained to Congress. From the previous P733 million, <strong data-start=\"1253\" data-end=\"1279\">the approved proposal of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) for 2026 has increased to P903 million<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1364\" data-end=\"1695\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to Presidential Communications Undersecretary Claire Castro, <strong data-start=\"1431\" data-end=\"1473\">President Marcos is not blocking Vice President Sara Duterte's suggestions, as long as <strong data-start=\"1531\" data-end=\"1560\">they will help the people<\/strong>. She added that the OVP needs to <strong data-start=\"1598\" data-end=\"1622\">properly defend<\/strong> their proposal like a student defending a thesis.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1702\" data-end=\"2057\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Meanwhile, La Union Rep. Paolo Ortega V is hopeful that President Marcos will focus his State of the Nation Address (SONA) on programs in tourism, agriculture, infrastructure, education, and health.
