The <strong data-start=\"390\" data-end=\"430\">San Miguel Beermen were trailing 97-96<\/strong> when Tautuaa attempted a dunk to take the lead. The ball went in, but the call was not immediately announced.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"547\" data-end=\"900\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to <strong data-start=\"556\" data-end=\"595\">PBA Deputy Commissioner Eric Castro<\/strong>, this is considered <strong data-start=\"619\" data-end=\"642\">basket interference<\/strong>. He explained, \"<em data-start=\"661\" data-end=\"773\">When the offensive player pulls the ring or the board shakes and the ball goes in, it's a violation.<\/em>\" On replay, it was seen that <strong data-start=\"798\" data-end=\"854\">Tautuaa pulled the ring down after the dunk<\/strong>, so it was not allowed as a point.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"902\" data-end=\"1172\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong data-start=\"902\" data-end=\"980\">The Technical Committee only made a decision in the last 13 seconds of the game<\/strong>, because that was the only time there was a dead ball. Castro added, \"<strong data-start=\"1044\" data-end=\"1133\">Even if there is no dead ball immediately, we can still change the call if there is a violation<\/strong> such as goaltending or interference.\"<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1174\" data-end=\"1476\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Castro also explained when a dunk is considered valid: \"<strong data-start=\"1251\" data-end=\"1388\">If the ball goes in before touching the ring, it's okay. But in this case, there is a pull on the ring before the ball goes in.<\/strong>\" He also clarified that this is <strong data-start=\"1417\" data-end=\"1439\">according to FIBA rules<\/strong>, and not just a PBA rule.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1478\" data-end=\"1709\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong data-start=\"1478\" data-end=\"1547\">The controversial call was crucial to the outcome of the game,<\/strong> as the Beermen missed out on the lead.
