You think that a daily \u201cgood morning\u201d text, watching movies together online even in an LDR, or a short call before bed is enough. I also didn't immediately understand that there is a time in a relationship when you have to <strong data-start=\"559\" data-end=\"581\">learn to wait<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"583\" data-end=\"594\">understand<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"599\" data-end=\"612\">keep quiet<\/strong>, not because you don't love him anymore, but because you want to see him fulfill his dreams.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"715\" data-end=\"1137\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">I'm Jek. A simple man who truly loves. I'm happy in my relationship with my girlfriend. It's not perfect, but I can feel the depth of our bond. We're both cheerful, we have the same taste in food, and we love to laugh at simple things. Before, we used to get into trouble every day. Even though we live in different places, I feel like she's always there. But now, a different kind of silence has enveloped us.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1139\" data-end=\"1180\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong data-start=\"1139\" data-end=\"1180\">A scene I will never forget:<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1182\" data-end=\"1650\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The other night, it was raining. The kind that was cold and chilling. I was lying in bed, the light on but I didn't even feel like scrolling through my phone. I looked at our last chat \u2014 \u201cI'm just reviewing, love. Miss you.\u201d \u2014 which he sent three days ago. I opened the messenger, staring at his name. I really wanted to message him. I wanted to say, \u201cLove, I'm tired. I miss you so much.\u201d But I didn't.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1652\" data-end=\"1678\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong data-start=\"1652\" data-end=\"1678\">I chose to remain silent.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1680\" data-end=\"1978\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Not because I don't care, but because I don't want to bother him. I know how difficult review season is for him. He has repeatedly said that this is his dream \u2014 to pass the board exam. So as his partner, it is my responsibility to <strong data-start=\"1938\" data-end=\"1951\">support<\/strong>, not add to the burden.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1980\" data-end=\"2087\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">But I must admit, there are nights when I feel really sad. There are questions that whisper in my mind:<\/span><\/p><ul data-start=\"2089\" data-end=\"2225\"><li data-start=\"2089\" data-end=\"2114\"><p data-start=\"2091\" data-end=\"2114\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cDoes he still love me?\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"2115\" data-end=\"2166\"><p data-start=\"2117\" data-end=\"2166\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u201cDoes he still think about me with all the studying he does?\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"2167\" data-end=\"2225\"><p data-start=\"2169\" data-end=\"2225\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\"How long will I have to wait for this silence?\"<\/span><\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"2227\" data-end=\"2281\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong data-start=\"2227\" data-end=\"2281\">But despite all the questions, I stayed.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"2283\" data-end=\"2585\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Whenever I think of him being tired from studying, I also think that maybe I'm the only quiet person he can lean on. The one he knows he won't be judged, the one he won't be reminded of \"you don't have time,\" but the kind of love that doesn't seek attention, but <strong data-start=\"2559\" data-end=\"2584\">gives space<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"2587\" data-end=\"3054\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">When I see our old photos \u2014 our selfies while eating street food, or our last walk in Luneta \u2014 I cry sometimes, not because of sadness, but because I'm proud. I'm proud of him. I'm proud of myself that even though it's hard, I can wait. Because what I'm waiting for is not just him. I'm also waiting for the version of him that dreams will come true. And I know that when he's there, he'll come back to me \u2014 more whole, happier.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"3056\" data-end=\"3108\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong data-start=\"3056\" data-end=\"3108\">For those like me who are quietly waiting:<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"3110\" data-end=\"3441\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Waiting doesn't diminish your character. Not showing affection every day doesn't diminish your love. Sometimes, the most intense kind of love is the one you can step away from for a moment, not to lose it, but to let it fly \u2014 and believe me, <strong data-start=\"3369\" data-end=\"3440\">it will come back to you when you're ready to succeed together<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"3443\" data-end=\"3715\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Even though I'm not starring in his story right now, that's okay. Because I know the day will come, we'll be together in a new scene \u2014 no longer crying in the quiet night, but laughing while holding hands, proud of where <strong data-start=\"3678\" data-end=\"3714\">patience, understanding, and love<\/strong> have taken us.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"3717\" data-end=\"3844\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">So while he's not here, while he's busy reaching for his star, <strong data-start=\"3792\" data-end=\"3844\" data-is-last-node=\"\">I'm just here \u2014 quiet, steadfast, and loving.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ang pag-ibig, akala ng karamihan puro kilig, tawanan, at masasayang moments.
