I am not a pastor, but many of the members come to me for advice or prayer. They say I am a good listener and understand. Whenever they have a problem, I am one of the first people they turn to. I used to think that was enough to say that I was close to God. But sometimes, even when you are in church, you can still lose your way.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"725\" data-end=\"1152\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">One \u200b\u200bday, <em data-start=\"756\" data-end=\"763\">Meldy<\/em> came to me. She was a regular attender at church. She was kind, quiet, and always sat at the end of the row. I learned that she was carrying a heavy burden: her husband had another family. Her heart was broken, and I could feel the weight of the situation. So, as a servant of God, I prayed for her. I supported her. Until I didn't notice anymore\u2014<strong data-start=\"1299\" data-end=\"1331\">I had feelings for her<\/strong>. And Meldy? It seemed the same. Prayers turned into conversations. Messages became more personal. Until the day came when we didn't just meet at church anymore. There were times when only the two of us knew about each other. Secret. Forbidden. But we both chose to ignore it.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1638\" data-end=\"1943\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">I thought I could handle it. I told myself, \"We're not doing anything wrong.\" But the heart, when you let it get used to sin, <strong data-start=\"1793\" data-end=\"1820\">becomes numb to right<\/strong>. In God's eyes, I knew it was wrong. But I tried to convince myself that it was okay. That there was a reason. That there was a reason.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"vce-row-container\" data-vce-boxed-width=\"true\"><div class=\"vce-row vce-row--col-gap-30 vce-row-equal-height vce-row-content--top\" id=\"el-9cf0657b\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-9cf0657b\"><div class=\"vce-row-content\" data-vce-element-content=\"true\"><div class=\"vce-col vce-col--md-auto vce-col--xs-1 vce-col--xs-last vce-col--xs-first vce-col--sm-last vce-col--sm-first vce-col--md-last vce-col--lg-last vce-col--xl-last vce-col--md-first vce-col--lg-first vce-col--xl-first\" id=\"el-7ed5f45b\"><div class=\"vce-col-inner\" data-vce-do-apply=\"border margin background  el-7ed5f45b\"><div class=\"vce-col-content\" data-vce-element-content=\"true\" data-vce-do-apply=\"padding el-7ed5f45b\"><div class=\"vce-text-block\"><div class=\"vce-text-block-wrapper vce\" id=\"el-e5ea4347\" data-vce-do-apply=\"all el-e5ea4347\"><p data-start=\"1986\" data-end=\"2310\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Until one day, <strong data-start=\"2007\" data-end=\"2055\">our head pastor heard about what had happened<\/strong>. He spoke to me quietly. There was no anger in his voice, but I could feel the weight of his frustration. He told me, \u201cBasta, if you really love God, cut off that relationship before it explodes in the entire congregation.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"2312\" data-end=\"2330\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">That's where I came to my senses.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"2332\" data-end=\"2552\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">It was like cold water was poured on me. I suddenly remembered why I started serving. Not to get involved in this. Not to lose respect. So my first plan: <strong data-start=\"2632\" data-end=\"2664\">move to the afternoon service<\/strong>. I told myself, maybe that would help. If we don't see each other, maybe I'll slowly forget. But as I thought about it, I had a deeper question to answer: <em data-start=\"2856\" data-end=\"2898\">Do I just need to avoid it?<\/em> Or do I really need to end it\u2014for good?<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"2947\" data-end=\"3027\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">And that's when I realized: <strong data-start=\"2970\" data-end=\"3027\">Avoidance isn't enough if you keep clinging.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"3029\" data-end=\"3288\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Even though it hurt, I chose to say goodbye to Meldy\u2014not in words, but in deeds. I didn't talk to her anymore. I didn't show up. Not because I didn't love her, but because I knew it was wrong. It's not easy. There's guilt. There's sadness. But with each passing day, I'm learning to <strong data-start=\"3442\" data-end=\"3492\">entrust the process of change to God<\/strong>. I know He has a plan, and despite my mistakes, <strong data-start=\"3552\" data-end=\"3577\">He still loves me<\/strong>. I can't erase the past, but I can choose a better path from now on.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"3670\" data-end=\"3905\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">If you are in a similar situation, I hope this serves as a reminder: <strong data-start=\"3737\" data-end=\"3837\">The right decision is not always easy, but it is what will bring you true peace.<\/strong> Resist temptation.
