One of the hotly debated areas is <strong data-start=\"497\" data-end=\"508\">MC Lane<\/strong> on <strong data-start=\"512\" data-end=\"535\">Commonwealth Avenue<\/strong>, Quezon City.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"551\" data-end=\"849\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Many <strong data-start=\"560\" data-end=\"570\">riders<\/strong> complained that their trips took longer, adding up to an hour during rush hour. In addition, they said <strong data-start=\"698\" data-end=\"710\">MC Lane is dangerous<\/strong> because they seem to be packed like <strong data-start=\"763\" data-end=\"775\">sardines<\/strong>, posing the risk of accidents even if there is a small mistake.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"851\" data-end=\"1110\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">MMDA Chairman Atty. Don Artes proposed dividing MC Lane into <strong data-start=\"866\" data-end=\"899\">3 to 4 lanes<\/strong> to ensure safer and smoother traffic flow. Another option is to <strong data-start=\"1020\" data-end=\"1053\">reduce the 5-meter bike lane<\/strong> by half to widen the motorcycle lane.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1112\" data-end=\"1524\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The MMDA has four options: first, reduce the <strong data-start=\"1158\" data-end=\"1171\">bike lane<\/strong> and widen the MC Lane. Second, move the MC Lane closer to the <strong data-start=\"1237\" data-end=\"1246\">MRT-7<\/strong> and use the lane for <strong data-start=\"1270\" data-end=\"1290\">private vehicles<\/strong>. Third, completely remove the bike lane to make way for the <strong data-start=\"1351\" data-end=\"1369\">PUV and MC Lane<\/strong>. Fourth, divide the bike lane and give half to <strong data-start=\"1436\" data-end=\"1465\">MC taxi and courier riders<\/strong> while other riders will still use the old MC Lane.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1526\" data-end=\"1723\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The MC Lane was reinstated in <strong data-start=\"1556\" data-end=\"1564\">2023<\/strong>, and over <strong data-start=\"1575\" data-end=\"1595\">1,300 violations<\/strong> were recorded on the first day.
