The Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (APECO) has officially announced the cancellation of the ASRV Special Resident Visa<\/strong> program in the Philippines. Up to 689 foreigners<\/strong> will be affected and may face legal problems as a result. The list of visa holders has been forwarded to the Bureau of Immigration for further processing.<\/span><\/p>

According to APECO CEO Gil Gianan Taway IV, the ASRV visa program has no legal basis<\/strong> from the beginning because APECO does not have the authority to issue permanent visas. They also found that many applications lacked essential documents such as address and NBI clearance.<\/span><\/p>

Starting April 2025, cancellation notices<\/strong> will be sent to visa holders in a phased manner. Visa status may be downgraded, a notice to leave may be issued, or deportation may be granted if a criminal record or false documents are found.
