According to the BOC, the <strong data-start=\"410\" data-end=\"427\">refined sugar<\/strong> did not have an <strong data-start=\"438\" data-end=\"455\">import permit<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"459\" data-end=\"472\">clearance<\/strong>, so it was immediately <strong data-start=\"490\" data-end=\"504\">confiscated<\/strong>. The total value of the seized items is <strong data-start=\"544\" data-end=\"557\">\u20b15 million<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"560\" data-end=\"862\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The operation was conducted after <strong data-start=\"604\" data-end=\"635\">Pre-Lodgement Control Order<\/strong> was issued by <strong data-start=\"639\" data-end=\"692\">POM District Collector Alexander Gerard E. Alviar<\/strong>. During the <strong data-start=\"709\" data-end=\"732\">physical inspection<\/strong>, sugar was discovered in <strong data-start=\"748\" data-end=\"779\">two 20-foot containers<\/strong>. Each container contained <strong data-start=\"826\" data-end=\"838\">500 sacks<\/strong>, which came from Thailand.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"864\" data-end=\"1198\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The operation was conducted in conjunction with the <strong data-start=\"902\" data-end=\"943\">Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA)<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"945\" data-end=\"979\">Department of Agriculture (DA)<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"981\" data-end=\"1026\">Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)<\/strong>, and other law enforcement agencies. It was found that there was no <strong data-start=\"1093\" data-end=\"1114\">import allocation<\/strong> or <strong data-start=\"1117\" data-end=\"1130\">clearance<\/strong> from the SRA, and the products did not have <strong data-start=\"1154\" data-end=\"1180\">official authorization<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1200\" data-end=\"1422\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Because of this, the <strong data-start=\"1222\" data-end=\"1268\">Field Station Chief of CIIS-Port of Manila<\/strong> ordered the <strong data-start=\"1273\" data-end=\"1315\">Warrant of Seizure and Detention (WSD)<\/strong>. This is a violation of the <strong data-start=\"1336\" data-end=\"1383\">Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA)<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1387\" data-end=\"1421\">Sugar Order No. 6 of 2022-2023<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1424\" data-end=\"1711\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Y.
