The operation was conducted at a house in <strong data-start=\"400\" data-end=\"420\">Marilao, Bulacan<\/strong>, where <strong data-start=\"447\" data-end=\"467\">81,200 vape pods<\/strong> branded <strong data-start=\"484\" data-end=\"499\">\"Team Papa\"<\/strong>\u2014all without <strong data-start=\"516\" data-end=\"544\" data-is-only-node=\"\">BIR-issued excise stamps<\/strong> were discovered.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"549\" data-end=\"886\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to the BIR, those responsible for the entry of these products will be charged with violating several sections of the <em data-start=\"660\" data-end=\"692\">National Internal Revenue Code<\/em> such as <strong data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"717\">Section 258<\/strong> (unlawful pursuit of business), <strong data-start=\"750\" data-end=\"765\">Section 263<\/strong> (unlawful possession or removal of excise-taxed goods), and <strong data-start=\"824\" data-end=\"839\">Section 254<\/strong> (attempt to evade payment of tax).<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"888\" data-end=\"1076\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui warned those who hide such businesses in villages and residential compounds. \u201c<strong data-start=\"1012\" data-end=\"1066\">They think we can't reach them. They are mistaken,<\/strong>\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1287\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The official also urged the public to <strong data-start=\"1116\" data-end=\"1166\">report suspicious vape products<\/strong> in their area. \u201c<strong data-start=\"1187\" data-end=\"1262\">Vape criminals have no place in our homes and communities,\u201d Lumagui added.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"1289\" data-end=\"1438\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The BIR's action is part of an intensified campaign against <strong data-start=\"1356\" data-end=\"1384\">smuggling and tax evasion<\/strong>, for the protection of the people and government revenue.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ang Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ay nakasamsam ng illegal vape products na may halagang mahigit \u20b1543 milyon na hindi binayaran na buwis.
