One of these is a letter pretending to be from the BI and <strong data-start=\"549\" data-end=\"572\">asking for money<\/strong> from the victim.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"591\" data-end=\"882\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to <strong data-start=\"600\" data-end=\"638\">BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado<\/strong>, such letters are used to <strong data-start=\"679\" data-end=\"690\">scare<\/strong> the victim and <strong data-start=\"706\" data-end=\"729\">easily persuade<\/strong> him to send money. In one case, the BI received a <strong data-start=\"794\" data-end=\"816\">allegedly fake letter<\/strong> with his signature and sent to a woman in <strong data-start=\"869\" data-end=\"881\">Pampanga<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"884\" data-end=\"1206\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Viado said the letter claims that the victim's foreign chat partner was <strong data-start=\"958\" data-end=\"985\">intercepted at the airport<\/strong>, and claims that it is related to the <strong data-start=\"1026\" data-end=\"1055\">Anti-Money Laundering Act<\/strong>. The letter includes a warning to stop contacting the foreigner, while also providing the <strong data-start=\"1143\" data-end=\"1184\">mobile number and social media account<\/strong> of the fake official.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1469\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The letter also instructed to send money to a <strong data-start=\"1265\" data-end=\"1291\">private bank account<\/strong> that was not <strong data-start=\"1307\" data-end=\"1321\">authorized<\/strong> by the BI. Because of this, the BI once again <strong data-start=\"1348\" data-end=\"1377\">urged the public<\/strong> not to believe in such letters and not to send money immediately.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"1471\" data-end=\"1591\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The BI has ordered the <strong data-start=\"1497\" data-end=\"1540\">authorities to conduct an investigation<\/strong> into the incident to stop this type of fraud.<\/span><\/p><hr class=\"\" data-start=\"1593\" data-end=\"1596\"><p class=\"\" data-start=\"1598\" data-end=\"1640\">&nbsp;<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ang Bureau of Immigration (BI) ay naglabas ng babala laban sa mga peke o huwad na dokumento na ginagamit ng mga scammer sa tinatawag na love scam.
