Kanlaon erupted again today, May 13, 2025, at exactly 02:55 AM, causing a moderate explosion at the volcano's summit crater. It lasted for five minutes and spewed a thick ash plume that reached 480 kilometers into the air.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"530\" data-end=\"887\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">A loud explosion was heard in the areas of <strong data-start=\"587\" data-end=\"604\">Barangay Pula<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"606\" data-end=\"622\">Canlaon City<\/strong> in Negros Oriental and <strong data-start=\"645\" data-end=\"662\">La Castellana<\/strong>, Negros Occidental. <strong data-start=\"698\" data-end=\"737\">pyroclastic density currents (PDCs)<\/strong> were also seen descending south of the volcano and causing vegetation to burn. <strong data-start=\"817\" data-end=\"836\">Large rocks<\/strong> were also thrown around the volcano's crater.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"889\" data-end=\"1233\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Alert Level 3 remains, meaning there is still a risk of further eruptions. Evacuation is recommended within a 6-km radius of the crater. Residents are advised to use respiratory protection and take precautions, especially local governments and civil aviation authorities.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ang Mt.
