There are new ways to avoid commitment: <strong data-start=\"518\" data-end=\"543\">ghosting, seen-zoning<\/strong>, and the classic \u201c<strong data-start=\"563\" data-end=\"577\">I'm going home<\/strong>.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"581\" data-end=\"932\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong data-start=\"581\" data-end=\"636\">Ghosting is when you suddenly disappear like a bubble.<\/strong> Yesterday you were talking to me, your sweetheart, you had plans to go to Jeju, and now, it's gone\u2014no goodbye, no reason. It's like a teleserye where the main character suddenly goes to Canada. But in real life, you're the one left behind, staring at the chat while <strong data-start=\"892\" data-end=\"917\">Regine Velasquez song<\/strong> plays in the background.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"934\" data-end=\"1206\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong data-start=\"934\" data-end=\"989\">The Seen-Zone is the one that was read but not replied to.<\/strong> You thought about your message\u2014funny but sweet\u2014and then all you received was \u201c<strong data-start=\"1049\" data-end=\"1057\">Seen<\/strong>\u201d. It was like a door had been closed in your face. It hurt so much, like a song by <strong data-start=\"1163\" data-end=\"1179\">Zack Tabudlo<\/strong>: \u201cAh, I don\u2019t love you anymore.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1475\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong data-start=\"1208\" data-end=\"1255\">\u201cI\u2019m going home\u201d is the most polite exit.<\/strong> Didn\u2019t like the date? I\u2019m going home. Ugly in person? I\u2019m going home. No vibe? I\u2019m. Home. There\u2019s a little <strong data-start=\"1366\" data-end=\"1377\">closure<\/strong> and respect, unlike ghosting. Sometimes there\u2019s even help from mom or BFF who will call for an \u201cemergency.\u201d<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"1477\" data-end=\"1769\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong data-start=\"1477\" data-end=\"1533\">Nowadays, women are more independent.<\/strong> They are no longer afraid of being single. They want a man who has sense, respect, and goals. If you don't have that, sorry, next time. But <strong data-start=\"1669\" data-end=\"1704\">it's not just women who are hurt<\/strong>\u2014there are men who also become victims of ghosting and seen-zone.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"1771\" data-end=\"2108\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><strong data-start=\"1771\" data-end=\"1875\">Modern love in the Philippines is like a Netflix genre: there's drama, rom-com, horror, and sometimes thriller.<\/strong> But amidst all the confusion, maybe the answer is simple: <strong data-start=\"1944\" data-end=\"1955\">honesty<\/strong>. If you don't want it, say so. If you're not interested, don't keep it up.
