The money was seized during a raid on a scam hub in <strong data-start=\"503\" data-end=\"526\">Mabalacat, Pampanga<\/strong> in 2023.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"540\" data-end=\"919\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">On <strong data-start=\"546\" data-end=\"562\">May 4, 2023<\/strong>, authorities raided a company called <strong data-start=\"626\" data-end=\"659\">\u201cColorful and Leap Group Co.\u201d<\/strong> at Clark Sun Valley Hub in Pampanga. The raid was part of an operation against <strong data-start=\"738\" data-end=\"759\">human trafficking<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"763\" data-end=\"778\">cyber-fraud<\/strong> such as <strong data-start=\"788\" data-end=\"829\">fraudulent cryptocurrency investments<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"833\" data-end=\"847\">love scams<\/strong>. The company claimed that its operations were only offshore gambling.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"921\" data-end=\"1292\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The operation was led by <strong data-start=\"958\" data-end=\"996\">multi-agency law enforcement teams<\/strong> such as <strong data-start=\"1006\" data-end=\"1017\">PNP-ACG<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1019\" data-end=\"1044\">Department of Justice<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1049\" data-end=\"1097\">Department of Social Welfare and Development<\/strong>. More than <strong data-start=\"1107\" data-end=\"1134\">1,100 foreign nationals<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1138\" data-end=\"1154\">129 Filipinos<\/strong> were rescued from online scams. <strong data-start=\"1198\" data-end=\"1215\">P189.6 million<\/strong> was recovered from vaults containing various foreign currencies.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"1294\" data-end=\"1458\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The scam hub operators, mostly <strong data-start=\"1341\" data-end=\"1362\">Chinese nationals<\/strong>, were charged under the <strong data-start=\"1380\" data-end=\"1424\">Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1428\" data-end=\"1457\">Cybercrime Prevention Act<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ang Regional Trial Court (RTC) ng Makati ay naglabas ng desisyon noong Abril 24, 2025, na i-forfeit ang tinatayang P189 milyon na cash mula sa iba&#8217;t ibang currencies, kabilang na ang US Dollars, Vietnamese Dong, Chinese Yuan, at iba pa.
