According to the report, the food was served to the children even after the snake was removed from it.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"539\" data-end=\"782\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The incident took place at a public school in <strong data-start=\"599\" data-end=\"609\">Mokama<\/strong>, a town in <strong data-start=\"626\" data-end=\"635\">Bihar<\/strong>, one of India's poorest states. It sparked outrage from the children's families, who protested and blocked the road.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"784\" data-end=\"1076\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The NHRC has ordered local officials and police to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and submit a report on the condition of the children. This incident has raised concerns about the <strong data-start=\"1008\" data-end=\"1029\">human rights<\/strong> of students in public schools.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"1078\" data-end=\"1311\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">In 2013, there was also an incident in Bihar where 23 children died due to food contaminated with <strong data-start=\"1187\" data-end=\"1201\">pesticides<\/strong>.
