They filed criminal charges today against the companies that allegedly did not pay taxes.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"662\" data-end=\"967\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">These businesses will face <strong data-start=\"702\" data-end=\"718\">P8.7 billion<\/strong> worth of tax evasion cases after the BIR filed a case. According to <strong data-start=\"793\" data-end=\"830\">Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui Jr.<\/strong>, these companies did not pay the <strong data-start=\"876\" data-end=\"890\">excise tax<\/strong> required to legalize their operations in the <strong data-start=\"949\" data-end=\"966\">vape business<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"969\" data-end=\"1248\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">\u201cWe have filed cases against major <strong data-start=\"1016\" data-end=\"1029\">importers<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1033\" data-end=\"1049\">distributors<\/strong> of vape products, such as <strong data-start=\"1077\" data-end=\"1086\">Flava<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1088\" data-end=\"1097\">Flare<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"1102\" data-end=\"1112\">Denkat<\/strong>. The value of unpaid vape products and excise tax is approximately <strong data-start=\"1197\" data-end=\"1213\">P8.7 billion<\/strong>,\u201d Commissioner Lumagui said.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"1250\" data-end=\"1522\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Lumagui further emphasized that these products do not have <strong data-start=\"1313\" data-end=\"1332\">legal documents<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1336\" data-end=\"1354\">tamaraw stamps<\/strong>, which are indicators that the vape products are not legal.
