According to <strong data-start=\"548\" data-end=\"586\">BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado<\/strong>, the PNP has <strong data-start=\"592\" data-end=\"607\">new leads<\/strong> about the people involved in the plan.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"656\" data-end=\"1086\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">For context \u2014 the five Chinese <strong data-start=\"701\" data-end=\"767\">Ying Guanzhen, Yang Jinlong, Liu Xin, Shen Kan, and Luo Honglin<\/strong> were caught on <strong data-start=\"784\" data-end=\"809\">March 22 in Zamboanga<\/strong>. They were arrested by the <strong data-start=\"828\" data-end=\"871\">BI intelligence and fugitive search unit<\/strong>, in line with <strong data-start=\"897\" data-end=\"930\">President Bongbong Marcos Jr.<\/strong>'s directive for tighter border security. The group is said to have <strong data-start=\"993\" data-end=\"1024\">links to Lucky South 99<\/strong>, a POGO firm that was raided earlier for illegal activities.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"1088\" data-end=\"1492\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">But the story got more interesting. According to the <strong data-start=\"1136\" data-end=\"1203\">Police Regional Office - Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR)<\/strong>, the group tried to escape <strong data-start=\"1239\" data-end=\"1270\">a day before they were caught<\/strong>. They were on a <strong data-start=\"1286\" data-end=\"1299\">speedboat<\/strong> from Jolo but <strong data-start=\"1315\" data-end=\"1340\">it broke down in Tawi-Tawi<\/strong>. They were accompanied by <strong data-start=\"1358\" data-end=\"1380\">3 Filipino boatmen<\/strong>, who said they were simply ordered to pick up passengers \u2014 they said they had no idea that the fugitives were on board.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"1494\" data-end=\"1842\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">People who help foreigners escape are called <strong data-start=\"1553\" data-end=\"1570\">\u201ctransporters\u201d<\/strong> \u2014 people who specialize in illegally crossing borders. This is similar to the case of <strong data-start=\"1669\" data-end=\"1681\">\u201cFiona,\u201d<\/strong>, who was involved in trafficking to Myanmar. As for the boatmen, they only know their contact by the name <strong data-start=\"1792\" data-end=\"1804\">\u201cBatman\u201d<\/strong> \u2014 no last name, no other info.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"1844\" data-end=\"2115\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">A <strong data-start=\"1848\" data-end=\"1883\">green substance<\/strong> was also discovered on the boat, which is being investigated to see if it is drugs.
