Since January, it has increased by <strong data-start=\"321\" data-end=\"339\">P319.26 billion<\/strong> or 1.96%. In the first two months of the year, the debt grew by <strong data-start=\"402\" data-end=\"420\">P589.73 billion<\/strong> or 3.62%, and compared to February last year, there was an increase of <strong data-start=\"496\" data-end=\"513\">P1.45 trillion<\/strong> or 9.57%.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"524\" data-end=\"837\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The increase in debt is due to additional borrowing for public programs and projects. The appreciation of the <strong data-start=\"665\" data-end=\"673\">peso<\/strong> against the dollar helped somewhat to reduce the impact of the growth in foreign debt. In total, <strong data-start=\"761\" data-end=\"778\">domestic debt<\/strong> constitutes 67.5% while <strong data-start=\"810\" data-end=\"826\">foreign debt<\/strong> is 32.5%.<\/span><\/p><p class=\"\" data-start=\"839\" data-end=\"943\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Economic managers said that the debt could still be paid off as long as the economy grew rapidly.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sa katapusan ng Pebrero, umabot sa P16.63 trilyon ang utang ng Pilipinas, ayon sa Bureau of Treasury.
