data-end=\"333\">X<\/strong> (formerly <strong data-start=\"342\" data-end=\"353\">Twitter<\/strong>) is now officially owned by <strong data-start=\"383\" data-end=\"390\">xAI<\/strong>, his own <strong data-start=\"413\" data-end=\"427\">AI company<\/strong>, through an <strong data-start=\"453\" data-end=\"478\">all-stock transaction<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"483\" data-end=\"701\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to Musk, the merger of <strong data-start=\"516\" data-end=\"528\">X and xAI<\/strong> will strengthen their <strong data-start=\"557\" data-end=\"608\">data, AI models, compute power, and distribution<\/strong>, which will provide smarter and more meaningful experiences for <strong data-start=\"676\" data-end=\"698\">billions of people<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"703\" data-end=\"954\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Musk bought <strong data-start=\"721\" data-end=\"765\">X in 2022 for $44 billion USD<\/strong>, but it is now estimated to be worth just <strong data-start=\"800\" data-end=\"819\">$33 billion USD<\/strong>. Meanwhile, xAI, which created <strong data-start=\"880\" data-end=\"891\">Grok AI<\/strong>, has a valuation of <strong data-start=\"913\" data-end=\"932\">$80 billion USD<\/strong> after the merger.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"956\" data-end=\"1223\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to <strong data-start=\"964\" data-end=\"974\">Emerge<\/strong>, <strong data-start=\"1000\" data-end=\"1024\">Fidelity Investments<\/strong>'s last forecast in October 2024 put the value of <strong data-start=\"1069\" data-end=\"1094\">X at just $9.4 billion USD<\/strong>. Although it increased by the end of the year, it remained <strong data-start=\"1160\" data-end=\"1220\">77% lower than the original purchase price<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p><p class=\" translation-block\" data-start=\"1225\" data-end=\"1510\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">The report also said that the merger of <strong data-start=\"1261\" data-end=\"1273\">X and xAI<\/strong> could <strong data-start=\"1286\" data-end=\"1403\">provide access to new investors, improve valuation, and move away from the negative image of the Twitter takeover<\/strong>.
