A <\/span>Filipino seaman<\/b> has been reported <\/span>missing<\/b> after a <\/span>chemical tanker<\/b> and <\/span>container ship<\/b> collided off the <\/span>northeast coast of England<\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

\"Based on the report of the <\/span>licensed manning agency<\/b>, the <\/span>able seaman (AB)<\/b> was aboard the <\/span>MV Solong<\/b> collided with the <\/span>Oil Tanker Stena Immaculate<\/b> in the <\/span>North Sea<\/b> on <\/span>10 March 2025<\/b> around <\/span>10 a.m. (UK local time)<\/b> in the Humber Estuary, Hull,\" according to a DMW statement.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The <\/span>Filipino sailor<\/b> was last seen on the <\/span>bow<\/b> of the <\/span>MV Solong<\/b>, where there was a <\/span>large explosion<\/b> and <\/span>fire<\/b> after the collision.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Meanwhile, the other eight Filipinos, including five Russian crew members, were safely rescued from the ship.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

According to DMW, the rescued sailors are currently staying at a hotel in Grimsby, London and are scheduled to be repatriated to the Philippines as soon as possible.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Meanwhile, it was also reported that the <\/span>Russian captain<\/b> of the <\/span>MV Solong<\/b> was arrested.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

UK authorities are investigating the cause of the incident while also liaising with the flag states of the ships involved.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The <\/span>manning agency<\/b>has also informed the family of the <\/span>missing sailor<\/b> about the situation and promised to provide <\/span>daily updates<\/b> on the investigation.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
