He was known for the songs <strong data-start=\"259\" data-end=\"279\">\"Love Love Love\"<\/strong> (2006), <strong data-start=\"288\" data-end=\"307\">\"Singalongsong\"<\/strong> (2008), and <strong data-start=\"319\" data-end=\"339\">\"Tour For Three\"<\/strong> (2008).<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"351\" data-end=\"622\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">According to the announcement of <strong data-start=\"370\" data-end=\"382\">Fu Music<\/strong>, the independent record label he founded, he bravely faced an illness for five years. The statement, released March 1 on Weibo, did not provide details about Fong's specific illness.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"624\" data-end=\"864\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\"><em data-start=\"624\" data-end=\"833\">\"He passed away peacefully on the morning of February 21, 2025, to continue a new journey in the afterlife. His music and graphic novels will remain eternal treasures of the spirit,\"<\/em> according to a Fu Music statement.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"866\" data-end=\"933\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong data-start=\"870\" data-end=\"931\">Musician Since Childhood, Became Industry Inspiration<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"934\" data-end=\"1321\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Born in 1983 in Hawaii, <strong data-start=\"976\" data-end=\"984\">Fong<\/strong> grew up in Shanghai and Guangzhou before moving to Hong Kong in the late 1990s. At an early age he was shaped by music under the guidance of his father, a professional drummer. He often plays drums in their house and sometimes sings in his father's performances. He learned to play the guitar at the age of 15.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1323\" data-end=\"1561\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">His music was heavily influenced by American artists such as <strong data-start=\"1402\" data-end=\"1421\">Michael Jackson<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1425\" data-end=\"1442\">Stevie Wonder<\/strong>. In 2005, he released his debut album <strong data-start=\"1496\" data-end=\"1509\">\"Soulboy\"<\/strong>, which gave him recognition in the industry.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1563\" data-end=\"1888\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Besides his own songs, <strong data-start=\"1628\" data-end=\"1636\">Fong<\/strong> has also written and produced music for popular artists such as <strong data-start=\"1687\" data-end=\"1733\">Eason Chan, Jacky Cheung, Andy Lau, A-mei,<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1737\" data-end=\"1750\">Fiona Sit<\/strong>\u2014a Hong Kong singer who has long been linked to Fong as his girlfriend, although they insist they are just friends.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1890\" data-end=\"1950\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong data-start=\"1894\" data-end=\"1948\">Coping with Illness and Reducing Music Activity<\/strong><\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"1951\" data-end=\"2166\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">In 2010, it was reported that <strong data-start=\"1977\" data-end=\"1985\">Fong<\/strong> was diagnosed with <strong data-start=\"2008\" data-end=\"2024\">pneumothorax<\/strong>, a condition where air gets trapped between the lungs and chest, causing severe pain and difficulty breathing.<\/span><\/p><p data-start=\"2168\" data-end=\"2455\" class=\" translation-block\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt\">Due to his worsening condition, Fong took a slight step back from his career after releasing his album <strong data-start=\"2284\" data-end=\"2309\">\"Journey To The West\"<\/strong> in 2016. I can't believe it.
