The collab between <\/span>Nike and Riccardo Tisci<\/b> has been quiet for a long time since 2018\u2014but now, they're back! The twist? These are not sneakers, but a <\/span>$500 USD leather handbag<\/b> called <\/span>\"The Mercer Bag.\"<\/b><\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Along with the Nike SS25 lineup, a new luxury bag made in Italy is released, with a minimalist yet elegant design. Using <\/span>black pebble leather<\/b>, debossed <\/span>Nike logo on the front flap<\/b> and metal <\/span>R.T. Tisci<\/b>'s wordmark on the strap and side of the bag. In addition, the <\/span>golden hardware<\/b> provides easy adjustability to the strap, so its overall appearance looks premium.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

This is not the first collab between <\/span>Riccardo Tisci and Nike<\/b>. In 2014, they began the partnership with an <\/span>Air Force 1 collection<\/b> with jacquard ankle straps, followed by the NikeLab Dunk Lux High, Flyknit sneakers, and the Air Zoom Legend boot. In 2018, they released the <\/span>mid-top Air Max 97<\/b> and Air Force 1 High. But now, they've moved from sneakers to luxury bags\u2014a new direction for their collab.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

One \u200b\u200bof the reasons for this shift is the <\/span>changing taste in fashion<\/b>. The hype in sneakers is still going on, but the market for <\/span>luxury bags<\/b> is also growing, especially in <\/span>men's fashion<\/b>. According to The RealReal's 2024 report, searches for men's handbags have increased by 900% compared to last year.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Also, Nike seems to be trying to move away from the overexposure of sneakers. Many sneakerheads say <\/span>Nike<\/b>'s releases lack innovation, so they're taking a different step to recapture the market's attention. One of their recent moves is the <\/span>NikeSKIMS collab with Kim Kardashian<\/b>, which is focused on <\/span>female consumers<\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

This could be just the beginning of Nike's hybrid-luxe strategy.
