The celebration of Christmas Eve in the country was quiet and peaceful, according to the report of the Philippine National Police (PNP) yesterday.<\/span><\/p>

\"In general, it is peaceful throughout the country because no significant incidents have been recorded,\" said PNP public information officer Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo to reporters in a Viber message.<\/span><\/p>

More than 37,000 police officers have been deployed at transportation hubs, ports, airports, major roads, malls, other commercial establishments, and important facilities.<\/span><\/p>

In Quezon City, the nine-day Simbang Gabi from December 16 to 24 was successfully completed without any untoward incident.<\/span><\/p>

According to Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Col. Melecio Buslig Jr., Simbang Gabi went well because of their good security coordination. About 216 police officers were assigned to churches and chapels to ensure the safety of thousands of devotees. He also commended the city government for providing 264 force multipliers to help maintain security.<\/span><\/p>

Meanwhile, to minimize flight delays, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) is posting real-time updates on their official social media accounts regarding the number of passengers at immigration counters at international airports this holiday season.<\/span><\/p>

In a statement yesterday, Immigration Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said these updates will help passengers plan their way to the airport, especially due to heavy traffic. This ensures that they will have enough time to go through the process and not miss their flight.<\/span><\/p>
