URWERK introduces the second installment of their 230 series: the UR-230 Polaris. This new timepiece brings bright white color and a new material to the model, deviating from the brand's traditional palette of black, gray, and muted colors.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Crafted from a single block of proprietary fiberglass-enhanced ceramic, the 44.81mm case offers a new polar perspective, bringing fresh energy to the collection. This innovation follows the UR-230 \u201cEagle,\u201d made entirely of TPT carbon, which marks a significant change in design while maintaining the technical base.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The UR-230 Polaris has a layered ceramic-based composite, where the polymer base contains sheets of woven ceramic held together by fiberglass plies. The resin encasing the fiber-based sheets is white in color, giving the case a complex, shimmering appearance that changes depending on the light and angle, surrounding the almost entirely black UR-7.30 caliber.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Martin Frei, art director and co-founder of URWERK, compared the white case of the UR-230 Polaris to the aesthetics of Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey and the design of Apollo 11, where white is an important element for heat shielding in space. This timepiece, with a combination of elegant and futuristic design, features a sophisticated version of URWERK's revolving satellite complication. The three-armed carousel has a four-digit hour, which rotates in a 120-degree section, clearly displaying the current time.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

With the trapeze-shaped case design, the extension towards the 6 o'clock position and the clever management of the angles, this timepiece maintains the unique URWERK aesthetic, complete with a white ceramic case, black DLC titanium caseback, and vulcanized rubber strap.<\/span><\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
